Flower Dragon Dryad is a bit of a departure for me. Because she was conceived in Winter, I wanted to pursue stark contrast and rely on harder textures than my previous work. She is an original sculpted plaster visage with preserved Winter leaves affixed to give her the appearance of a Bright and Fierce defender of the forest. The leaves were collected near a virginal spring in West Virginia during December. I chose this variety because I wanted to give her sharp and unyielding scaled armor befitting a guardian. I used heavy acrylics to provide a little textured relief, but chose to leave other decorative pieces off. In this case, I believe less is more.

A very enjoyable piece to work on.
